The Beauty Edit
Products earning a spot on my shelf.
Since its the Saturday of a holiday weekend, I thought we needed an especially fun and frivolous newsletter today. I’ve told you about my garden, my stationery collection, and so its only natural that I now tell you about my current favorite beauty products. No deep thoughts, just an excuse to talk about some current obsessions. I’ve also been testing a few new updates to my routine since January. I’m ready to reveal who made a permanent addition to my bathroom shelf.
Nemat Amber Perfume
I discovered this subtle, warm scent at a health food store off PCH in 2020. I was waiting for my green smoothie, perusing their beauty section, and was genuinely shocked to find my new favorite perfume in a tiny glass bottle for $18. I’ve put in way too much time at Sephora for that to be right? But that was six years ago and I still keep a rollerball in every bag and a full-size bottle on my vanity. It’s become a comfort scent for me, and I actually enjoy the fact that it doesn’t last all day — it gives me an excuse to reapply often.
Now I will warn you that if you decide to go this direction for your signature scent, it is also a favorite of Uber drivers. I can’t tell you the science behind that, but I’ve had an awkward number of encounters and have learned to keep an Amazon link handy for their wives and girlfriends. Just being honest.
Victoria Beckham Beauty Future Lash Mascara
As a redhead with blonde lashes, mascara is a desert island product for me. And yet, something about the shape of my eye, the length of my lashes, or the texture of my skin makes every single mascara transfer under my eye. After a recent afternoon at the Chateau Marmont where I took off my sunglasses in the elevator to reveal full raccoon eyes — that was enough to scare me straight. Enough with the mascara testing. Time to go back to what I know to be true.
And my truth is that Victoria Beckham Beauty Future Lash mascara is the best tubing mascara on the market. You may not have even heard of it due to the product’s insane lack of marketing, but it’s been a staple of their collection for years. I got a sample in a 2022 Ipsy box and the rest is history. But every few years I get that little voice in the back of my brain telling me there’s got to be a new product out there to rival it. I stray from my truth and end up with raccoon eyes every time. Don’t be like me. Pay the shipping, get the black, and the brown and bordeaux if you have light eyes, and thank yourself later.
Rhode Peptide Lip Shape in Lift
I lost the blender cap three months ago, but I rarely leave the house without this in my bag. It truly is “my lips but better.” I prefer a natural look and this light tan-rose color is about two shades darker than my natural lip — still quite a light shade, which is why I pair it with a clear gloss like Eadam Butter Mochi (my favorite new gloss of 2026). It enhances my natural lip line, I can’t screw up the creamy blendable formula, and taking the time to put on lip liner just makes me feel put together.
Also, as a top .1% listener of Justin Bieber on Spotify in 2025, I’ll pretty much support anything they do.
Honorable mention to the rhode pocket blushes (nothing special but fun packaging and I love the tan line shade).
Moroccanoil Brumes du Maroc Hair Mist
I’m new to hair perfume as a category, but I find having a separate scent just for your hair to be quite chic. And who doesn’t love giving someone a casual hug and getting the “wow, you smell amazing” compliment? Hair perfume guarantees that.
Now, I happen to love the Moroccanoil signature scent, but I know it can be controversial. If you aren’t familiar, it’s a warm, slightly exotic floral scent. I’ve used the Moroccanoil treatment hair oil on and off since high school, so the scent is deeply familiar to me and pretty much what I think all hair should smell like.
Apparently the product also contains vitamin E and argan oil for hydration, but I usually use about one spray, so I don’t think I’m getting those benefits. But it will last forever.
Hanni Water Balm
This is the only body lotion I will use.
I’ve always been an under-moisturized gal because I absolutely cannot stand the feeling of a thick lotion on my skin. It feels suffocating. And that’s on neurodivergence. But this lovely spray-on, water-like moisturizer is oh so light and absorbs immediately. It has a subtle fragrance, but I never notice it once the product is absorbed. And it really is effective despite the consistency. I will forever repurchase this product.
Truth be told, I love all of the Hanni products. My everything showers are always concluded by applying the in-shower moisturizer, and I also love their shave balm.
Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Concealer Brush
I never used to believe that makeup brushes mattered, but I am now a full convert. In 2026 I’m slowly replacing all of my old drugstore brushes with nicer alternatives, and this concealer brush is the one that started it.
The difference between how my Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer applies with and without this brush is night and day. To think I used to use just my fingers. It’s not cheap, but I do use less product overall.
Medicube PDRN Pink Vita Coating Mask
If you don’t know, now you know that PDRN (aka salmon DNA) is the hottest new ingredient in skincare. And on my journey to abstain from Dysport, I’m very interested in its regenerative and anti-aging properties.
Once I discovered this mask, it became the only mask I use. I’d do one every night if I could. It’s extremely hydrating, smoothing, and firming. Non-sticky, fast-absorbing serum. You will truly have glass skin once you’re done.
As someone who simply cannot stick to much of a regular skincare routine, this one mask atones for all my sins and makes my skin look young. Which, at the end of the day, is all we really want.
If you made it this far, I hope you found something to add to your bathroom shelf. And if you have any holy grail products you swear by? I want to hear everything.
